The Army Grassroots League (AGRL) final was held at Royal Artillery Saddle Club Larkhill earlier in March. This was a cumulation of 3 months of competition where riders accumulated points (dependent on their placings) across the Dressage League or the Combined Training League (dressage & showjumping).
The soldiers and officers that compete at AGRL, some are completely new to equestrian competitions, some have had limited experience but collectively they were pushed outside of their comfort zones in order to developing their equitation abilities. Some of these riders will now “graduate” to join their respective Corps teams but there is no obligation to move out of the grassroots league. This is an environment where the AEA seeks to nurture, develop foundational skills and provide some friendly competition.
This year we would like to congratulate:
Cfn Mason (REME) for winning the Overall Dressage League
And
Gnr Hobbs (KTHRA) for winning the Overall Combined Training League
