DASCB Coin Presentations – Maj S Gregory and Sgt S Karim

We are pleased to share that the ASCB has recognised two of our members for their outstanding and continued contributions to Army Equitation. Maj Sophie Gregory (RADC) and Sgt Sarah Karim (AGC-RMP) were invited to the Grand Military Gold Cup at Sandown Park and presented their awards by the Director of the ASCB, Maj Gen (Ret’d) Amison CBE.

A brief summary of their citations follow:

Maj Gregory: In recognition of her services as Army Chef d’Equipe 2019-2021 and as an executive committee member. She was instrumental in the Army Equitation resuming training and competition in July 2020 with COVID19 protocols in place, all whilst also balancing her Army career and redeployment to the NHS! Under her watch the Army Teams have secured consecutive wins in the Loriner’s Inter-Services League, Royal Windsor 2021 and Army Team SP qualifications at National Championships for British Dressage, Showjumping and Eventing.

Sgt Karim: In recognition of her contributions to both the Army Dressage Team (as team manager) and to her contributions to all levels of Army Equitation. She has continually supported the Army Grassroots League, which is where our novices often experience their first competition, up to providing virtual training feedback for Army Team riders in the initial uncertain times of mid-late 2020. She is also a BAE Scholarship holder 2020-2022.

Sgt Karim is the current Chef d’Equipe* for Army Equitation.

*The Chef d’Equipe is French term for Team manager used in equestrian sports.
