The All England Jumping Course at Hicksted is one of the “hallowed” competition venues within the showjumping world. With a team of 8 including 2x Development Team riders and Team coach, Mia Palles-Clark, a very positive experience was had for all. It was a perfect setup for the team’s next competition and for the upcoming Royal Tournament (tri-service competition) at the end of July.
- LCpl Laura Charley (R Signals): Coming 2nd in a 1.25 m class and jumping in the “championship” main ring against some seasoned professionals
- OCdt Lucy Wisher (EUOTC): 4th in the 1.20 m Derby with a few unlucky poles in the 1.10m
- SSgt Louise Hoyle (AWS): 4th in the 1.10 m Derby with also a few unlucky poles (darn it!) in the 1.10 m
- ATpr Will Field (AAC): 3rd in a 1.20 m class along with some great rounds in the 1.25 m
Dev Team riders Maj Hannah Hewins (RLC) and CoH Andrew Mancey (HCMR) gained some invaluable experience for them and their horses. All very promising!
